Zar & Zar was founded in 1995 as a Sole Trading Company Limited by Dr. Myo Thant with an intention to import, market, and distribute medical products in Myanmar. Inspired by his experience as a physician and a public health professional, Dr. Myo Thant wanted to increase accessibility to drugs and medical equipment in Myanmar. The Company started with less than five employees with turnover volume of not more than US$ 10,000.
